Things To Do
Camps Bay & Clifton
See and be seen – one of the trendiest beaches in Cape Town, Camps Bay offers a multitude of cafés, clubs and restaurants along the promenade selling everything from ice cream to surfboards and fresh sea food.
Clifton is more of a calming influence on the rest-seeking tanner. On windy days you will find refuge here.Hout Bay
A beautiful bay and cosy harbour at the end of Champman’s Peak Drive. Enjoy the special atmosphere of a small fishing village: the self-proclaimed Republic of Hout Bay. Culinary specialities and handcraft markets are of daily appeal.
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens
Be amazed by the botanical variation and uniqueness of the Cape Regions and find yourself transfixed in a jungle of beautiful flora nestling in Table Mountains side. Sunday evenings combine concerts with picnics, allowing for a truly relaxed atmosphere while enjoying South African music.
Robben Island
Formerly Mandela’s imprisonment island, Robben Island is now open to visitors. It is advisable to book at the beginning of your trip, as it is a popular excursion destination. Ferries leave from the V&A Waterfront, next to the Clock Tower.
Greenmarket Square
Enjoy the African variety of curios and arts and crafts on the daily (excl. Sundays) market.
V&A Waterfront
A trip to the harbour, home to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, is always worth the while. Be it a restaurant, shopping, a trip to Robben Island or a sunset cruise, you will find everything right there.
City Roundtrip
Sit back and relax, discover Cape Town and the Peninsula from the top of a double-decker bus.
Table Mountain
The heart of the mothercity is over a 1000m high and the trip up, be it by cable car or on foot, is an absolute must. The 360° view is an irreplaceable experience. Before considering to hike up or down Table Mountain check on the weather and the wind, as the ‘four seasons in one day’ might catch you off guard. Being riddled with wonderful trails, the mountain is a paradise for hikers. Keep in mind to wear appropriate shoes and don’t forget your sunscreen, going up is not just a leisurely stroll. Ask Kerstin and René about maps and trails or a guided tour.
Boulders Beach and Simons Town
Visit the penguins on Boulders Beach and don’t forget to stop in Simons Town on the way with its historical buildings and precious gem stone factory.
Champagne Sunset Cruise
Enjoy a spectacular sunset on a catamaran or smaller sailing vessel in Table Bay sipping a glass of bubbly. Ask Kerstin and René where and how to book.
